<p>um, a THOUSAND percent true. last year our trig/diffcal class went to the Guggenheim and the exhibit was Minimalist art. let me sum up my fave examples:</p>

<li>7 white canvases hanging next to each other.</li>
<li>enormous cardboard box painted black.</li>
<li>giant canvas with dead flies glued onto it about 2 inches deep.</li>
<li>large cone of salt.</li>
<li>stack of paper.</li>
<li>a wall painted white.</li>
<li>a SCULPTURE of a piece of plywood leaning against a wall haphazardly.</li>
<li>metal ramp on the floor that some of us were standing on until the tour guide pointed out it was one of the pieces of artwork.</li>
</ol>
<p>towards the end of it, the tour guide was like "look at how the cylindrical garbage cans complement the circular building! and the sidewalk is made up of circular tiles, EASING you into the circular environment." causing one guy to point to a random van parked nearby and be like "and...this is a VAN." We had to summarize the exhibit as a project...i wrote a really sarcastic paper basically making fun of every ridiculous piece of "art" that was in there...and somehow my teacher liked it so much that she was like "be sure to remind me about this when you ask me for a recommendation." i kid you not. lol. i talk too much.</p>
