I am a freshmen soon moving onto my sophomore year in a high school w/ a normal American curriculum overseas (not in the states). I aim for going to a medical school (university) in the UK when I graduate.
Now, here’s my problem: I am struggling to decide which subject I should take next year between these two: AP Biology / Design for IMPACT.
I guess that all of you guys know that AP Bio is one of the most fundamental courses to take to become a doctor, and I really want to get it out of my way next year, so I can really focus on AP Chemistry and AP Physics in my junior year.
HOWEVER, the course called Design for IMPACT allows students to pursue their true passion and expand it in massive, create ways which I believe that many colleges would be interested seeing it from their appliers.
This is a real concern, because I can only choose one between the two, and IMPACT will probably count as a huge college credit (if I DO succeed in it (this course is pretty individual and self-lead).
To conclude:
1 more AP course in my transcript (assuming that I got a good grade on this - I’m pretty confident in science)
OR
A successful project that displays and conveys my interest and creativity in this field of study (medicine)
Thank you so much in advance for anyone who replies to this.
