I have a problem with a half-term class

I'm a music major. I need a minimum of 7 classes to fill 15 credit hours and I need a minimum of 15 credit hours to keep my scholarship. I currently cannot afford to fail or drop anything. The drop date hasn't happened yet but it is too late to sign up for any new classes.

Here's the thing: I had originally signed up for German II. I thought that I would be able to handle it, but coming in I realized that German I hadn't adequately prepared me and I was a bit behind on the vocab. I could've caught up, but I decided I was busy enough that it wouldn't be worth my time, so I dropped it and switched to an online religion course.

I didn't realize the course I signed up for was a half-term class, meaning the pace is about twice as fast as it would normally be. I also signed up on the last day of the first week and couldn't get my books until the following Tuesday. Needless to say, I'm behind. My professor has been lenient and told me I could have a bit of extra time to do my first assignment, but I'm just way behind. By tomorrow I need to have written two detailed responses and read 240 pages. I'm not anywhere close.

I don't know what to do. I'm really scared about losing my scholarship. I could try to read as much as I can and BS my responses but I have no idea how that's going to go. Or I could see if I can get into another half-term class for the second half of the semester where I at least won't be a week behind. I just don't know what to do. Should I go talk to my advisor about this? I'm definitely going to try to get the assignments done for now but I don't know if I can keep this course. I'm already dealing with 6 other classes, some of which require a significant amount of work outside of class. This is really bad.
