I have a Q about the Financial Aid docs in the mail

I'm assuming everyone that applied got their "Student Aid Award Letter" in the mail? I have a couple Q's because it isn't clear about some things:

For Student Awards > "Fed Direct Loan Unsubsidized" it says the total = 3,500. Now, I don't know if I've been awared this i.e. a scholarship, or if it's just a regular loan that I have to pay back.

On the bottom it says to fax the form on the back to recieve "Unsubsidized Loan funds" so this means that if I fax it, I get 3,500 even though I don't remember doing anything for it?

Because "loan" = must repay it
and "awards" = do not repay it

So I'm a bit confused -_- I did apply for a Study Abroad scholarship though, didn't recieve anything back that was specific to it though.

that's a loan.

Are you sure... because I applied for a scholarship from the school, for 3,500.
And that is how much that "loan" is - that can't be a coincidence!!

But it bugs me that they didn't notify me personally about winning it.

....well in my opinion it says LOAN so it has to be a loan. a scholarship is something you don't pay back. a loan you pay back. contact the financial aid office.

"Fed Direct Loan Unsubsidized" is a straight up loan. you must accept or reject it on the back of your award letter. it has nothing to do with the scholarship you applied for.
