I have a question about aid...

so im probably i reach to get in, i only have a 3.4 gpa over my first 3 years if high school so i am not jumping to conclusions here...

but if i were to get in... anyone know what type of aid i can recieve?

my family only makes about 80,000 a year plus my sister is also in college... i was looking at grants and stuff like that and i have added up that i should be eligible for around 9,000 a year...

any help would be great

You need a 3.7 (out of a 4.0) plus a different range of test scores to get any merit aid. Miami’s website has the details. They have eliminated the Miami Grant. The new merit aid awards are more lucrative but skew to the high GPA/high test score students.

With $ 80,000 income—my guess is financial aid will be limited—just Stafford Loans and Work Study.

All of us will probably be able to give you a better idea once packages come out at the end of the month.

^Agreed.

Personally, I’m in the same situation. I have a 3.68 GPA, but my school really does not have weighted grades. So, my GPA’s low even though I have passed four AP tests (three of which with a 4+, and two without a class). I also have a 32 ACT, two points higher than is required for their top automatic scholarship nowadays, and my Honors invite mentioned Fin. Aid…

It’ll be interesting to see what happens :)

ALSO - Apologies for my “location”. I just couldn’t help myself :D:D:D
