I am a currently a sophmore. I keep a 4.0 G.P.A unweighted. My dream college is Stanford University. I currently thinking of doing a early action or a regular action after i take the SAT, which is going to be this summer. I heard that early action is when you accepted you all other application gets nothing and you have to attend the college. Is this correct?
and also i want to know what basic requirement do i have to have to meet with Stanford early action. Do i have to take the SAT II during my sophomore year? and turn in the early action application in my junior year when all the senors are turning their application in?
Also, do Stanford have a email for the admission offices?

You apply the fall of your Senior year – which is two more years for you, not one. Stanford has restrictive early action – if accepted you are NOT bound to them. They have NO requirements of sophomores. You should spend time on their website – many of your questions are basic and are easily answered with some time there. GL to you.

Stanford has “Single Choice Early Action.” It is not binding and if accepted you do not have to attend. “Single Choice” means, however, that you cannot apply early action or early decision (the binding program you are thinking of that many colleges have) to other colleges (with some exceptions such as you can apply early action to your home state university). You apply for Stanford in the fall of your senior year in high school. Application for early action is due by Nov 1 in your senior year.

Stanford requires either SAT or ACT. It does not require SAT subject tests but strongly recommends them. Thus, you should probably take two subject tests. Stanford accepts tests taken through Oct of your senior year in high school for early action.

Actually, Stanford’s restrictive early action has broader exceptions for early non-binding applications to other schools, like any public school, any non-US school, any rolling admissions school, or any early application deadline for scholarships.
