I have a question....

If there is a word limit of 500 words per essay, would colleges mind if you go a bit over? Would 520 words be too much? I was wondering if colleges view this as a major thing, if your essay is a little more than 500 words.

Does anyone know?

They could just disregard the last 20 words , leading to an awkwardly ended statement . I think it depends on the Snobbiness of the school , I dont think an Ivy league would let it slide . Thats just my opinion though .

Okay, thank you. I guess I’ll just make sure my essay is exactly 500.

I was also wondering, if I include a title, does that count towards the amount of words I use?
Also, are titles necessary?

I wouldn’t add a title unless it helped you in some way.

You can go to 520 words, it will be fine.

A title are not necessary, but you can include one if you want, that is up to you.
