I have a question.

Can students be on their school boards?

I’m not sure what school boards you are referring to. Your local school board? That may be a question for your own school and town. At our school, two students every year were selected to be student representatives to the Board of Education. Also, it might be a good idea to categorize these questions under something more general instead of “Yale University”

I mean local school board, and btw I love Psych!

^^ As @shawnspencer said," That may be a question for your own school and town," as each town/school creates their own set of rules.

I have some questions too. Can you phrase your threads more specifically next time? And consolidate your questions?

I really don’t know what you’re trying to ask. Do you mean if you’re allowed to be a liaison to your school board as a student? Yes, why wouldn’t you be? Many of your threads ask questions that are either too specific, too premature, or can be easily answered through a Google search. As a freshman, I would honestly hold off on the college admissions game a little and just * relax*. Seriously.

Good luck!

It’s probably not a good idea to run for public office if you are going to have to quit to leave for college.

In New Haven students have run to be an alder. I don’t recall off the top of my head whether any have won. The Board of Education has been appointive. I think there have been some members attending graduate school. Now that the board is shifting to hybrid–some elected, some appointed–students will be able to run.

People running against students tend to go with the carpetbagger, transient memes.

But the answer is yes to whether students can be on the school board or serve in other local government positions.
