<p>If i am not able to get into any summer biomedical research and internship at universities, is it ok if i do research at a local hospital instead and do some job shadowing. I was wondering if these big interships really help for ba/md or is my local research good enough.</p>

<p>How would you go about getting these kind of shadowing/research positions at local hospitals? Do the positions have to be posted on the websites? I've tried calling hospitals and medical centers in my area about this, but they always just say that they don't offer any programs like that for college undergrads.</p>
