I have a really quick noob question that Im sure all of you can answer.

I will be a senior this year and Im wondering when I should apply. I want to apply at MSU but I dont know when I can. MSU says apply now but I dont know if that is for this year or next year. I will be applying for next year so I dont know whether or not to apply.

Here is their link
http://admissions.msu.edu/toolbox/apply.asp

http://admissions.msu.edu/toolbox/apply_timeline.asp

It looks like the application is out for next year so I should apply right now?

A lot of schools have their applications out right now. I'm planning to wait to apply until school starts though. I'll need to talk to my guidance counseler, and my teachers to get recommendations, and I want to make sure everything is sent out at the right time. I'm going to start working on my essays this summer though.

You could apply now, but it might be better to wait until school starts.

I thought it was always better to apply early. What benifits from applying when school starts. I will probably start working on my personal statement now as writing isnt something I can do in one sitting very well. MSU has rolling admissions if that makes a difference.

Well unless you know where your teachers live you can't really ask them to write you a recommendation right now can you?

Im not going to ask any for recommedations because Im only applying to MSU and they're not that competitve

you seem like you want to get in, why take chances of being rejected for not having a rec?

anyways you could email a teacher to give you a rec, although i'm sure they wont be happy to get emails from students during there summer.

I'm not sure about MSU, but I think most schools REQUIRE a teacher rec.

They dont but if they did. I could definitly get one from my history teacher.
