I have a theory...

I have a feeling USC has some system of eliminating applicants based on standardized test scores. I also have a feeling that they use the system to separate those who score extremely high from everyone else. Then, they review their applications first, which is why people with higher scores and GPA's got in first. Another thing that makes this make more sense is that the scholarship recipients had to have been selected in a similar way. 1,000 people out of 20,000 must have been very difficult without some sort of system of narrowing down applicants. If this is true, I think that those with lower scores and GPA's get in later in March, like someone else on here had also thought. What do you all think?

i think that is a pretty good theory!

Lol, that's not a theory. That's how they do it.

Do you really think so?

I hope that they do it that way. That way we could all probably get in next week!

Lol, trust me nagooya and Nicole B, we're gonna get it next week.

My college counselor says I'll get it next week. So then yeah. :)

haha my theory !! yes I really hope that's it.. and if it is that then I hope that next week's us with 29ish ACT scores!

I got a 2130 (parallel to a 32 ACT) and haven't been accepted...

Well.. maybe your GPA?

NOW IM REALLY EXCITED!!!

I am in LOVE with USC! I'm sure we all are.. that's why we're here!

Lol, I got a 32 on my ACT.

yeah maybe 3.62 unweighted but I took hard classes... 4.2 weighted

You sound like a strong applicant! I'm sure you'll get in

I have nearly the same GPA. I had a 1950 on the SAT kind of low... But I took 8 AP's and 10 Honors classes...

Do honors classes even matter?

aw thanks! I'd be the first person in a long line of family members not to get in so I sure hope so...

I also think you'll get in. I think we all have a great shot this week!

you will get in greeneyes24...

And there will be a wave next monday.

wow you guys are just so supportive! the problem is a looot of people have been telling me that. They won't even ask me where else I applied because they assume I'm going to USC. Someone congratulated me last week for getting in when I DIDN'T. So I just don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed (not to mention the fact that it's not so secretive that I applied)... Anyways, I hope you all get in! From what I see, I think we all DESERVE to get in and we can just hope for the best.

I know what you mean! Everyone expects me to get in, and I'm afraid I won't.

But I think we've all got a great shot at getting in!

I think your theory is correct and I just explained it that way to a friend of mine yesterday! There are of course a few accepted that dont fit the pattern but I noticed they were either URM's or first in families. I think it actually makes good sense to do it the way we think they decided. We all know they are getting more and more selective each year and you can't do that without GPA/Test Scores.

Me = 3.8UW/3.95W 30 ACT BUT...Rank 35% percentile...uugghhh.(all 4's, 5's on AP's)

ShaneUSC and Naooya - If I were an admissions officer I would award you guys admission strictly on the basis of enthusiasm, persistance, determination and optimism to become a Trojan! I am pulling for both of you!

Fight On!
