Thank you so much!!!! :D

Since my school does weighted weird, can someone explain to me how most schools do weighted GPA? It seems to be on a 5 point scale from what I can tell?

Unweighted GPA's are on a 4 point scale. (A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1)

The weighted GPA adds an additional GPA point to each for an AP or Honors class. Making it out of 5.

So AP and honors classes are both worth 5 points? AP isn't worth more than honors?

In my school AP is 1 point and honors is .5 point

At my school honors and AP are the same... Which is VERY annoying. I don't like the GPA system at all. Kid's can get a 4.0 UW GPA by getting straight A's in all regular classes... not fair!

Hey all, I'm a junior transfer applicant for this coming term. Just wanted to drop in and wish you freshies luck. ;)

I had sub-2000 SAT scores and I got in at the same time with the people at my school who had 2100+ but who didn't receive scholarships.

Really? What was your score?

I think you might be an exception to my idea... :)

CollegeFrenzy: I wish you were the head admission officer.

Agreed. ^^^

I really doubt they work today, so no status updates this weekend. Then comes Monday.

Yeah, i was wondering the same thing. I think you're right. This weekend is going to take forever... which is good and bad hahaha.

I disagree with your theory because i have a 3.9 UW GPA (top5% rank) and a 2200 SAT and I haven't been accepted yet.....maybe i will this week who knows

Your theory is also what I was thinking on how they do it. I'd think they would decide scholarship applicants based on just scores as I highly doubt they had the time to read essays and the other intangibles and then decide. Since they are already separated into piles, maybe they looked at the higher scores w/ non-scholarships and then went down the line.

I really hope that is the case, at least! I really want to hear back from USC and want to go there!

Let me start by saying, I have no idea how they process through and make decisions on all of these applicants, however, I am reasonably sure that the scholarship applicants are based upon scores. And I don't think the next round of acceptances were those with scores that were almost in range, because my D was accepted last week and her SAT scores were OK, but not that extraordinary (ACT was good). I can't believe her acceptance was primarily score related, or grade related for that matter. But there is nothing about the quantitative part of her application (scores/grades/rank) that would have her stand out ahead of many of you who have posted your stats. Frankly, many of yours are ALOT better. So, have hope! It won't be long now.

I am so nervous for monday to come along!!!! I hope we all get in

Majority should be sent on Monday.

so nerve racking I am really scared i wont be in it

You're gonna be in the Monday wave. Don't worry.
