Im hoping of getting into an ivy league. i have 2350 SAT..going for 2400 june. I have great ECs that i dont feel like listing...too long, and great essays blah blah. i have 3.9 UW and 4.35 W bc ive only taken 1 AP so far: AP Bio: had the highest grade in my class and am sure that i got a 5. Next year im taking 4 APs: Macro/ Micro, Calc AB, Italian language, and Lang. Also i had an A freshman year in Honors geometry, but got put in cp for alg 2 and now precalc, but im going to AB next yr. im an intended engineering/ business major...how much will my rigor hurt my app even tho i maintained straight As in all honors classes besides math (advanced though)?

Your ECs and SAT score are perfect enough. Keep doing well on your school course, and I advise you to take some online AP courses this summer or just study the textbook by yourself.

i was considering that but the next time i could take the exam would be after applications so wouldnt that defeat the purpose

But at least the AP credit will occur on your transcript, better than nothing.

wait it would appear on my transcript? (sorry im a little ignorant)

bumpbumpbumpp

Honestly I don’t know

what dont u know?

Ha sorry i mean if you take online course this summer, you will get the credit and add it to your school transcript.

oh rly?! so say i take ap chem, it would show up on my transcript that i took it junior year?

I don’t think so, it should occur as Summer School Course or something. Between your junior year’s and senior year’s transcript. To make sure, ask your school counselor.

okay yeah good idea. how about if i dont take one. where would my application stand?

bumpbump would like to hear other ppls opinions

Don’t waste your Summer. You should start working on the applications, writing essays, and visiting schools. The only advantage of AP classes for your school application is to show your course load. I don’t think spending the summer on that would be a wise move for this purpose. However, you may do so if you really want to accumulate more AP for credit and advance placement. You don’t need AP score for school application.

i know but im talking a out for Ivys…during my summer im also working full time, im doing indendent lab research, runing my own business among a lot of other things, so idk if it would actually be a productive use of my time.
