the trimester hasn’t ended yet but by the end, I think I might end up with an F in AP calc BC. Maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll pull it up to a D.
My GPA (weighted) right now is a 3.6 but by the end of this trimester, depending on calc, it might turn into a 3.2-3.4.

Obviously a D doesn’t look good. My grades started dropping when my dad died last year. So I have some things to explain when I apply. But I know UCs only look at sophomore and junior year. I’ll be retaking calc as a senior. Will it still replace my junior year grade? So do I have any shot at UCs? I’m not trying to get into Berkely or anything. I’m looking at Santa Cruz…
So how do UCs see a fail followed by a senior year retake? If there’s no chance I’ll get in, (my SAT is above their average and my extracurricular are supposedly very good) then what would schools like University of Arizona and Arizona State think of me?
I want to major in poli sci or business if that helps anything. I am a Bengali female (Muslim)
