I have been admitted, what If i get 2 Cs on my second semester grades?

Hey guys, I have recently been admitted to UCLA class of 2020.

On the admissions contract, it says that I must complete the final year academic classes listed on my application with at least a minimum overall B average or equivalent.

I am not sure what that means. Are they asking for a senior year GPA of 3.0+, or 3.0+ both semesters, or Bs in all my classes of Senior year?

I think I am going to finish with 2 Cs out of 8 this semester (rest are Bs and As) with 4 Aps, however my average for the whole year of each class is going to be at least a B.

But wait, what if I get a C second semester of a class and a B first semester, what would be the average for that?

and my cumulative Senior year GPA is going to be more than 3.0, i can guarantee that.

Also wondering the same thing! I emailed them and filled out a form. They should get back to us within 15 days of when we submitted the request for information. I would suggest doing the same.

I received a supplemental questionnaire and reported both Cs that I received and still was admitted. I wonder if that will affect my acceptance. Anyone have insight?

You need to maintain a 3.0 overall for your Senior year and no more than 2 C’s. If you do not meet the requirements, UCLA could potentially rescind your acceptance but most schools will not unless you really drop the ball and get D’s or F’s. Just make sure you can get those grades up so you do not have worry… Usually your 2nd semester grade will be considered more important than your first, so you want no more than 2 C’s 2nd semester.

Perfect, thanks @Gumbymom
@helicoptermomsUN the semester is not over yet, and i might not have any Cs, so should i still email them saying it is a possibility? :-/

I know a student who was admitted to UCLA, submitted his SIR, got two Cs and 2 Bs second semester senior year and had his admissions rescinded because he couldn’t prove a better reason than minor family issues and his own senioritis, and previously had only two Bs (therefore not demonstrating the “academic performance on par with what we selected you for,” even though his three extra As did bring his cumulative GPA over 3.0 that semester). He ended up going to De Anza community college.

However, that was in 2012. Not sure if things have changed now.

I personally would want to play it safe since there are a lot of waitlisted applicants dying to get in. Just keep those grades up and do not succumb to “Senioritis”.
