Recently I did the subject test for Maths II and I got 780, the session corresponded with my A level exam for mathematics so I decided to give it a try, I'm satisfied with my score.

Later I'll be doing the subject tests for Physics and Chemistry, I can take one more test in the same session.

Should I take Math I? Would it be useful at all? Would admissions officers think I'm dumb for trying to get an extra score in an easier test?

Please comment freely and thank you for your help.

You’ll have three subject tests, which is beyond the two that are usually required. IMO, taking Math I would be superfluous. You wouldn’t look “dumb,” but you also don’t need it, especially if you already took Math II.

Even an 800 on the Math I won’t be that great, since you got a 780 on the Math II. Also, scoring high on the Math I is usually pretty tough, even though it tests elementary concepts. I would say go for the Physics and Chemistry, and also retake the Math II while your there (which is precisely what I’m doing). I would say your very capable of an 800 on the IIC, which looks much better than a 780.

My main concern now is whether I would just be wasting time preparing for Math, when I could be preparing for Physics and Chemistry.

Of course the 800 would look better, but wouldn’t I have a higher chance of getting a better score on Physics and Chemistry since I would only need to prepare for two tests and I could put more effort into them?

Also considering that I always thought that schools just look at the scores, see whether they are above a particular threshold like 750, then look at the rest of the components of the application.
