Hopefully my recs and essays will be good as well. Here's the schools I'm looking at:
Brandeis
Carnegie Mellon
Case Western
UChicago
Drexel
UMD
MIT
NYU
Northwestern
Tufts
Tulane
Vanderbilt
Wake Forest
WashU

Other suggestions are fine as well. But I do not want a large school so please no big state schools as suggestions. 5K-8K students about. Thanks for chancing!

All of them are sort of a reach; except UMD and NYU!! You’ll get in for those. But if you get the 2200 you have a really clear chance for all of them. Good luck

the gpa is a little low for cm, uchicago, mit, northwester, tufts
its in the 25-75% for the rest
and the sat needs to go up maybe 200 points to be competitive for the top schools.

good luck!

Anyone else? Bump!

I think that in addition to what iccclub said, you’d also have a pretty good chance at Tulane, and it being free to apply to is also a nice bonus ;)

Bumping again

Really, no one?!

Brandeis: high match
Carnegie Mellon: mid reach
Case Western: high match
UChicago: high reach
Drexel: high match
UMD: high match
MIT: high reach
NYU: low reach
Northwestern: mid reach
Tufts: mid reach
Tulane: mid reach
Vanderbilt: mid reach

Good luck! :)

Wake Forest

WashU

Is Drexel really a high match? I forgot to mention my mom went to Brandeis so that may help a little. But Drexel was my safety? Really.

Can I please have an answer?

The reason why it would be a high match (I think it’s more a low-match/mid-match) is because nothing really screams chemical engineering. I definitely see the theatre side of your application, but not much on the chemistry side (in terms of ec’s).

So because my ECs don’t have to do with my intended major, I’m less likely to get into a college?

Don’t worry about having a 3.5 GPA for UChicago!! Trust me. I had a friend who had a GPA of about 2.5 (maybe lower) and got in. Work really hard on your essay. I think that that was one of the reasons he got in. Also, I just want to say that even if these colleges are high reaches, it does not matter. Just because they are a ‘‘high reach’’ does not mean you cannot get in.
In my personal opinion I think that you have taken great classes and have a lot of ec’s which is good. I think you are an above average student and I think that if you try really hard you could get into more than half of these (if not all)

Thank you!
