So I put down my major and alternative major in the division of biological sciences and I have NO IDEA on which college to pick! All I really want is a college that has flexible GEs (or requiring more bio-related ones at least), leans towards the life/biosciences, and is close to where my classes will be.

Muir and Warren have the fewest GEs.

Warren is more for engineering, I've heard... what's Marshall like?

Warren has FEWER GEs for engineers, not more. :)

That's not what he meant.. I think he's saying that Warren is more catering towards engineers, which is correct. I would probably recommend Muir, since they have the fewest GEs period, but Warren also has nice GEs regardless of whether you're an engineer or not. Marshall would probably be my third choice.

Likewise. I personally would advocate the following order:

1 - Muir ---> Because you wouldn't get in otherwise. Easiest GEs, great location.
2 - Warren --> 2nd best GE, just nice overall. Would say this can be #1 choice for engineers.
3 - Marshall --> Just kind of nice overall.
4 - ERC --> Beautiful buildings but hard GEs
5 - Sixth -- o_o Just ... meh. Camp Snoopy is all I've got to say.
6 - Revelle --> KILLER GEs, enough to make you cry your way through college.

1 - Muir ---> Close to the beach, reported "easiest GEs", comparative to the other colleges it has a more collegiate feel to it, if you're a language/humanities major a lot of the classes are held here
2 - Warren --> Very far from everything, wouldn't recommend unless an engineering major, to me a very "blah" college
3 - Marshall --> Heinously unattractive buildings, another "blah" college, best dining hall (mmm those burritos), medium GEs
4 - ERC --> Nice architecture, I-House proximity, close to the beach and gym, very nice dorms, Internationally-focused and writing-heavy GEs (which should be much better after MMW 1 hopefully....did I mention the MMW sequence lasts 2 years?)
5 - Sixth -- I honestly have no idea why everyone is ragging on Sixth...it's far away from most things, but it's very close to Price Center and it has a very secluded and communal feel to it...easy GEs
6 - Revelle --> Terrible location, terrible GEs, terrible focus, terrible EVERYTHING--- AVOID THIS COLLEGE LIKE THE PLAGUE

THESE ARE IN NO PARTICULAR/PREFERENTIAL ORDER

Avoid Revelle like the plague!?!? Okay, I have to admit that Revelle's Hum is a HUGE downer, but if you're premed, Revelle is heaven. I heard that 95% of Revelle's premeds get into med schools, with our reputation, our GEs overlapping with premed requirements (with our rigorous humanities I heard specializing in MCAT verbal section review). Our locations is not terrible; we're a 30-second walk to York, CLICS, and Plaza, and less than a five-minute walk to Peterson, HSS, APM, Mandeville, Main Gym, Muir Tennis Courts, Sierra Summitt, Pacific Hall (where most research labs are, for all you premeds out there), and School of Medicine (Biomedical Library, Club Med, and more research opportunities if you're the ambitious premed). Revelle is not as easy as other colleges, but I like the location and what it has to offer.

I used to live in Revelle, actually

the only thing I enjoyed about it was its proximity to CLICS, which is an amazing library

By the way, if it clears anything up, I was an ERC student put in overflow housing at Revelle so the juxtaposition was too unbearable for me between the two colleges

I am now in ERC and couldn't be happier

Any piece of evidence you got to back up your claim that Revelle helps pre-meds into med school?
