Help me?

I'm a senior in high school this year. I plan on being a surgeon. I've been looking into colleges and there is one inparticular that I am interested in. On the list of majors is "physics/pre-medicine". After seeing that I decided that would be my major, but after speaking to my sister i was informed I would have to major in something such as biology first? I thought that you had to major in pre-med and then go to med school. Is majoring in pre-med the same as med school making it impossible for me to do?

So I can major in pre-med, but it's very difficult program to get into?

You can major in any arts and sciences subject you want. It doesn't matter.

Your sister and you are both wrong. You don't need to major in "premed" (most schools don't even have this major). You don't need to major in biology. You can major in practically anything...sociology, physics, engineering, underwater basket weaving, whatever.

I love underwater basket weaving. Come to Cornell. Cornell has the nation's best underwater basket weaving major. (Don't take this seriously).

But yea, on a serious note: everything norcalguy or BDM says is true. everything. always.

But on a more serious note: i want to thank norcalguy and bluedevilmike for all the help you provide on these forums. however, have you guys ever thought about the impact you are having on the future generations of premed and med students? with all this power at your fingertips, arn't you ever tempted to tell us lies for the fun of it? i mean countless premeds would swallow it as absolute truth, i'm sure.

To all the readers: if my account gets deleted tonight, everyone will know why. hehehe slightly funny isn't it? i guess not.

"with all this power at your fingertips, arn't you ever tempted to tell us lies for the fun of it?"

All the time. I disguise them as sarcasm though.

It doesn't matter. No one listens to us anyway.

Did you say something norcalguy?
