I have no idea what college to choose!

I go to a pretty tough high school so I am ranked 44 out of 365.
My gpa is a 3.8 and my weighted gpa is a 4.97.
My SAT score I hope is around a 2100 and I hope my ACT is around a 32.
I played basketball and outdoor track.
I am a member of NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, SNHS, and Student Council.
I hold a leadership position in NHS.
I plan to be a lawyer when I grow up and I want to major in psychology for my undergraduate school year.
My dad doesn't want to spend more than my state school which is around $15,000. So I have to rely on merit scholarships. Additionally I don't want to spend too much on my undergraduate school, I'd rather save up for law school.
What school is my best bet? P.S. I am on the east coast area
Also know any scholarships I would qualify for?

Why not just attend your state school?

I want to go where no one else is going, you know a sort of adventure.

Hi Nickstergirl - welcome to CC! With 3.7 / 1400 out of 1600, you’ll get free tuition in the U. of Alabama Honors Program. Other good schools that get cited on CC for good merit aid include Pitt, Tulane, Miami and Purdue.

Also, check out the Macauley Honors College at CUNY.

You may want to look at Denison University in OH. Look through their merit scholarships and see if you need to submit a separate app. for the scholarship in addition to the Common app. and supp. Son was offered Paschal Carter making the total cost $14,000 yr. I absolutely LOVE Denison, and although the scholarships available may be some extra work on your part, it’s worth the additional effort if you are offered one :). Further, plenty of DU grads head to UVA Law, and other top schools/ivy’s for law. You will get a first rate education there.
