<p>I'm a junior right now, and it's nearing the end of the school year... I realized I have no ECs to back my college chances up. I'm getting a car very soon and would like to start up some grassroots projects and the like. I'm really into politics and medical stuff and all that. I need something for the summer, I'm teaching myself Greek and Arabic right now but I don't think that'll bump me up much!</p>
<p>The key is to do stuff you enjoy. I know it's cliche, but EC's should reflect what you like to dedicate yourself to outside of school</p>
<p>You like politics, so why not write articles for the school newspaper expressing your opinion on current events and the like? Are there any political clubs at your school? </p>
<p>There's always community service clubs, which would allow you to particiapte in a variety of things.</p>
<p>Since you like medical stuff, i'd be really great to volunteer at a local hospital. The hours required are very doable, you gain knowledge and experience, and it shows that you're dedicated.</p>
