@Regretful If you mean me, my daughter’s at Franklin & Marshall. Doing great and loves it.
Yes I did. Thanks for responding.
@twoinanddone , in this neck of the woods (Maryland) where lacrosse is HUGE, when you are talking about getting recruited, it is pretty much a given that you are usually talking about Div 1 lacrosse which is how I knew my friend must have been confusing schools. While I was paraphrasing our conversation, we were definitely discussing D1 lacrosse and I knew that USD did not have D1 lacrosse. It was just funny that she even clarified - “USD, the Catholic school” because she knew that there was a difference b/w USD and SDSU but even then, she was still mistaken about where this girl was going to play lacrosse. That’s cool that USD has a good club lax team. D17 played for 8 years but she gave it up after getting a bad concussion her freshman year of high school.
I grew up in a college obsessed household. It was a topic of conversation from the time I was a wee child. My mother wouid tell you there isn’t a college she hasn’t heard of. She is 88 and still talking about colleges constantly!
I believe I know who you are talking about, and A) she was right, and B) she isn’t “snooty,” she’s independent-minded to a fault. Her point was that you shouldn’t waste time worrying about whether people have heard of your kids’ schools.
And how about if you don’t wan’t people to call others ignorant and unsophisticated, you refrain from calling others snooty. Less name calling would be positive in general.
