I have not ..paid for housing

Yeah...Haven't paid the 25$ or whatever fee for housing. If I get in, am I pretty much guaranteed to get terrible housing?

To be fair, all of UF's regular freshmen housing is terrible (though Murphree was actually fair). I wouldn't fret so much because it's not like anybody is living in luxury.

So..I still haven't paid for housing lol. Since we get decisions on Friday, should I just wait to find out then if I got in?

Considering the fact that hundreds are going to use the same reasoning, I would suggest sending the deposit in if you believe you have a good shot of being admitted

You missed the housing boat.

There are ONLY about 7,000 spots for ALL students on campus.
Add 23,000+ UG applications.
You do the math.

We have friends who did not get housing last year since it runs out quickly. There is no lack of housing in G-ville, but if you want to live in the dorms I would put my $25 in if you think you might have a chance of getting in.

Okay so I surprisingly got in. And I immediately paid the housing fee, but...based on what you guys say, it seems unlikely I'll get it lol. Is there really probably NO chance? And when do we find out?

New Question:

Was the housing deposit refundable or non-refundable

damn, i wasted $25

There is always a possibility. I guess wait and she what happens.

All incoming students with housing contracts will be sorted in Housing Application Date order. (Click here to learn how to find your Housing Application Date.)

* Mutually-requested roommates (roommates that request each other, have same facilities in order, and have same room type in order) will be assigned based on the roommate with the latest (worst) Housing Application Date. This policy is stated on the preference page of the Housing Portal.

We attempt to assign students to space using their 1st preferences (hall, room type, and, if applicable, roommate).

If the student’s 1st preference is not available for both area and room type then we attempt to assign the student to their 1st room type preference and 2nd hall preference. If this is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 1st room type preference and 3rd hall preference.

If the student’s 1st room type preference is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 2nd room type preference and 1st hall preference. If this is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 2nd room type preference and 2nd hall preference. If this is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 2nd room type preference and 3rd hall preference.

If this is still not available, we will assign based on the student’s “Most Important Preference”.

If the student’s “Most Important Preference” was hall, then we would attempt to assign the student to any room type in their 1st choice hall. If this was not available, we would attempt to assign the student to any room type in their 2nd choice hall. If this was not available, we would attempt to assign the student to any room type in their 3rd choice hall.

If the student’s “Most Important Preference” was room type, then we would attempt to assign the student to any building with their 1st choice room type. If this was not available, we would attempt to assign the student to any building with their 2nd choice room type.

If none of the students preferences are available, we make room assignments in the following order (click here to find out why we use this order):

* A/C Double Rooms
* A/C Permanent Triple Rooms (about 350 spaces)
* A/C Temporary Triple Rooms (about 600 spaces)
* No A/C Double Rooms
* No A/C Triple Rooms
* No A/C Quad Rooms

NOTE: Some of the room types noted just above may be included in the student’s preferences. If this is the case, the student will be assigned by their preferences first, if they are available at the time room assignments are made when we are assigning space in Housing Application Date order.
