I have not ..paid for housing

<p>To be fair, all of UF’s regular freshmen housing is terrible (though Murphree was actually fair). I wouldn’t fret so much because it’s not like anybody is living in luxury.</p>

<p>There are ONLY about 7,000 spots for ALL students on campus.
Add 23,000+ UG applications.
You do the math.</p>

<p>We have friends who did not get housing last year since it runs out quickly. There is no lack of housing in G-ville, but if you want to live in the dorms I would put my $25 in if you think you might have a chance of getting in.</p>

<p>We attempt to assign students to space using their 1st preferences (hall, room type, and, if applicable, roommate).</p>

<p>If the student’s 1st preference is not available for both area and room type then we attempt to assign the student to their 1st room type preference and 2nd hall preference. If this is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 1st room type preference and 3rd hall preference.</p>

<p>If the student’s 1st room type preference is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 2nd room type preference and 1st hall preference. If this is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 2nd room type preference and 2nd hall preference. If this is not available, we will attempt to assign the student to their 2nd room type preference and 3rd hall preference.</p>

<p>If this is still not available, we will assign based on the student’s “Most Important Preference”.</p>

If this was not available, we would attempt to assign the student to any room type in their 3rd choice hall.</p>
