I Have Not Taken My SAT Yet, When Should I?

Last year, I registered for a June SAT Subject Test on accident. I have not taken the standard SAT. My problem is knowing when I should take it, which I know is as soon as possible, but if I can take it in November, rather than October (for a number of reasons) and still be okay in terms of the admission process then I would love for that to be said here! If not, and I should take it this coming October, I need to know by the late registration deadline which is in a few days. I am not planning on applying for Early Decision or Early Action. Please reply asap! Thank you, in advance.

Taking the SAT for the first time in November is really late, since it will give you little time to improve by the December sitting in needed. I would try to take the October sitting if possible.

You should be fine taking the SAT in November for most schools. The deadline for most schools is January 1.
Some schools like the UC’s want their apps in by November 30, others must be turned in early to be able to be considered for merit scholarships, so obviously check those deadlines to see if they accept the November SAT if you’re applying to schools like those.

November of senior year is late but not too late. The question is will you be ready to take it. Have you done any practice on it? Note that you don’t have time for a back up plan except for taking ACT as well.

What universities are you aiming for?
Prepping hard for the Oct test then planning on a retake in November would be best,
because it’d help you figure out what range of schools you can apply to. In addition,
if you score very well, you would be eligible for merit scholarships, the deadline for which
is in November.
If October + november isn’t possible you should plan on taking it in November AND December.
How did you do on your Subject tests?
