I Have Officially Become A Grade Whore

So yeah, not 5 minutes ago I sent an e-mail to a TA asking him to consider giving me 2 extra Subjective Grade points so I could get an A instead of a B+. I feel dirty.

Welcome to the dark side.

We have cookies. :-]

I doubt he would.......

Well it depends how many points it is. 2/10? 2/500? :P

2/350. Less than 1%, in other words.

The sad part is - That comes down to a missing negative sign on a Math test. Or a missed homework.

Subjective grade points? Haha...what are those? Are they somewhat like participation in HS?

I feel like most of us on this website fit that category :)

wait, you mean an A or an A-? cos if 2 points is the difference between a B+ and an A, that's kind of almost awesome or terrible, depending on your point of view. so, did you get the bump?

Did you succeed? Haha

Lol Monoclide you're right. If it weren't for a few points of extra credit, my calc grade would have been decided on the lower side of the A/B line by a negative sign.

There are no minus grades at my university... at least, not yet. There are plans to implement them next year. For this year, though, it does mean that, yes, the difference between an B+ and an A was only 2 points.

And subjective points are kinda like effort points. It's a lab class, so you get them lowered if you arrive late or if it turns out you aren't helping your partners with the experiments and things like that.

Also, I don't know if it worked or not yet. He hasn't e-mailed me back... I'm kinda worried T-T

i hate grade/mark whores

guess what i was 3 points outta 500 ish from an A. Instead i got a B. No +/- in my school. That sucks. Plus i got a 5 on the exam but still did not get an A.

lol first step is acceptance
i had to realize this the hard way...:)

YOU DIRTY DIRTY BEING, I like <3.

I tried, it didn't work. It never works with teachers of the same gender. At least for me.
