I've had perfect high school attendance, and it is on my transcript. I once remember reading something like "terrific attendance shows that you are motivated for school and commitment blahblah..." What do you guys think? Does this help at all for my chances for admission?

By the way,... I'm not a geek or anything: just really committed to school and in really good health :D

There are students in my class who have never missed school simply because their parents won't let them, and the difference between no days missed (you) and a few days missed (almost everyone else) is totally negligible to admissions committees, I'm sure.

Plus, I was admitted to everywhere I applied (except 2 waitlists) with missing roughly 35 days a year, every year since elementary school. 35 times 4...yikes.

How would colleges see your attendance record? Mine isn't listed on my transcript( because I've seen it) and I know some school's transcripts do. I don't see anywhere else where attendence would be noted- not on the actual app or commonapp or the mid school year report?

Perfect attendance is a load of crap. It means that even when you were sick you came to school and got everyone else sick. Good grief take a freaking day off every now and then! Colleges could really care less about attendance as long as you have good grades and show up at least 3/4 of the school year.

Thankfully, nobody cares about attendance. I'm usually "sick" at least once or twice every quarter. I blame my school though, because if you arrive after the bell for homeroom, you get a half hour detention, and if you arrive over 10 minutes after that bell, you get a 70 minute detention. I'm always tempted to stay 8 hours in school instead of getting 4 extra hours of sleep whenever I wake up late, but luckily my sanity kicks in and tells me to "stay in bed you stupid mother freaker."
