I have recently found a job that pays 14 bucks an hour

I am a junior and have been working at baskin robbins on and off now for about a year and I was planning on working there until I leave for college. But I have recently found a job that pays 14 bucks an hour when BR only pays 6.55......... so my question is...........

Would it look better to stay at baskin robbins to show commitment, or should I take the other job for more money? Would it make me look uncommited?

I don’t think that having jobs all over the place matters. I think just having a job is a good thing in this economy!

Showing the initiative to earn as much money as you can in the months before you have to spend it (!) is very good! Go for it, and good luck!

Just think how much it would cost you for 3 or 4 words on your college applications. You’re over-thinking the whole upcoming process if this is a concern to you. It’s not like B and R is a “career” job…colleges know this…you’d be crazy to pass up the better pay.

Even with all the super smart people on this forum, their brains suddenly turn to mush when it comes to college admissions and their chances…

It’s absolutely ridiculous to turn down a higher paying job just because you want to show “commitment” to colleges.

I agree, go where the money is…
Money talks in this world, and colleges do know that. Good luck! :)

Taking a new job for higher pay is NEVER a bad thing. It actually shows that you’ve established yourself as an excellent employee and are getting an “upgrade.”

And I agree with the others who think you’re nuts. ;)

You would look dumb by staying with a job that pays 50% less. Sheesh.

haha decision made
