This may sound like a silly question but I just recieved a high school internship from a brand new company and both the company and I have no idea how to register an intern. For example, is there any paper proof for a non-paid summer intern or do all you need is the application form. I heard colleges sometimes check the job you worked in. Do they call the manager or expect some type of paper proof like taxes (which is impossible since I'm not getting paid). So please, can somebody tell me how the process of documenting an intern? A lot of thanks in advance.

I don't think you really "document" it
If somebody/some company needs proof that you interned there, then they could just call your supervisor during your internship period
And for your college app, just put down internship at company X doing x things
