Want to major in Philosophy and Literature at Stanford (Interdisciplinary in the Humanities). President of Philosophy and Literature cluib since the 9th grade, established it myself.. etc..etc

Do i even stand a chance at stanford? with my D and 3 C's? Do i even stand a chance at UC Berkeley and or UCLA?

I'm not sure if this is a school policy or what, but my school only reports year grades to colleges. That C+ amd A- averages out to a respectable B.

And I didn't post my EC's above (except for Phil.Lit. club)_

Nope.. my school reports both grades

Im so worried..help??

Find a new school.

So your not a math person, huh? :)

But, hey Standford might take pity on you. Is there some reason ( i.e. family problems, school issues, etc.) that you got those bad grades? Anyways, taking all those accelerated classes really early might of been the problem. You should of talked to your guidance counselor/teacher after that first D.

Just dont rely on stanford..u could get in...there is alwayz a chance..but have some safeties

Definitely apply if you want to go there...with a 2380 at least they'll at least take your application seriously.

stanford doesnt look at freshmen year, but those 2 C's junior year look bad.

won't they still have to see it on the transcript tho

I got a 3.42 GPA (not including freshman year) for you. That puts you in the bottom 1% of all applicants. You're not getting in. 89% are in the top 10% of their graduating class and with a 3.4-3.5 GPA, you're not in the top 10%. Sorry, that transcript won't let them consider you, even with astonishing test scores. Look at other schools. Your dream doesn't have to die though, there is grad school and transfers.

If they do as they say, they won't consider it.

Sorry, but no.

I would not say a definate no to Stanford. However your chances are
slim (but arn't all ivy applicats?). Your scores of at least a 780 math and a 790 IIc will definatly boggle the minds of the adcoms when they see that you are not doing well in your math courses. However, if you can dazzle them with your essay I believe you have a chance at admission.

Best of luck to you.

Well I'll be honest: you probably can't get into Stanford now. However, if you want, you can still go there for grad school. You have spectacular test scores, but your grades and GPA are killing you.

I think icebarracuda nailed it. The "problem" is you have 790 and at least 780 on standardized math tests, which shows you have math ability but didn't get the grades.

I think Stanford would be a stretch, so would any ivy.

If you are Californian, then you definitely have a shot for UC Berkeley or UCLA if you explain your poor grades with your personal situation. Yeah also hit 800 on IIC Math, that always works.

Stanfurd!!! Who needs them! F--- Stanfurd!!!

"Stanfurd!!! Who needs them! F--- Stanfurd!!!"

No wonder why you said that (after I saw your Location)
