I have three(-ish) questions, thanks in advance.

I went to a state university (and only applied to this one and a back-up), due to certain circumstances, scholarship money, and family's convenience, as well as possibly finding a career path. Mostly due to family's circumstances though.

Schools I'm thinking about are Columbia (Seas), U Chicago, UC berkeley, Northwestern, Caltech, Cornell, MIT, (and just to see, Harvard, yale, princeton, dartmouth.)

1.) If I wanted to apply as a transfer student after my Freshman year at a state university, would I be able to retake the SATs during my Freshman year of college?

2.) Is it easier to transfer to CC or Seas for Columbia?

3.) Would I be able to use the common application online for Transfer applications?

Any other major tips, like should I apply as early as possible?

Harvard and Princeton are not accepting transfer students.

Columbia does not use commonapp.

Ah, duh, I read that about Harv and Princ, but totally disregarded it when i posted this, heh, thanks for reminding me.

Thanks, can anyone else offer insight about the standardized testing dilemma?
