I have to leave my school eventually, but when should I transfer?

I study in Madrid, Spain at Suffolk University (an American university that has a campus here). I began studying here right from the start, freshman year. However, due to the extremely small size of the school and the very limited amount of classes offered, I can only stay 2 years before having to transfer internally to the Boston campus. I have no desire to go there.

I'm still a freshman, but I'm debating whether to transfer mid-sophomore year or transfer as a junior. My high school record is great (graduated with 3.64) but my first semester in college was awfully rocky (got 1.7), but I'm improving drastically. When should I transfer?

Also, for next semester, I have to live off-campus for financial reasons. But trying to find a place for only one semester is difficult from what I've been told, thus why I might wait until junior year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My advice would be to wait to be a jr year transfer.

If you apply in the fall for a spring of soph yr transfer, you will only have 1 semester to show improvement over your rocky start. I think it is advantageous to put as much time and great grades between that semester and transfer apps as possible.

I’ll do that then. Thank you so much for the help! :D
