<p>I was planning on applying to Vanderbilt, but I'm applying to the school of science and my AP Bio teacher (and Honors Physics..so she knows me) is out on maternity leave so I'm waiting for her to do one of the recommendations. Also, the counseling dept. here sucks and it takes the counselors months to do recommendations (not kidding...they've had my UGA rec for a month and a half now). So, since it is so late in the year, so I still have a chance? Here are my stats:</p>

<p>Yeah--I'm curious just like everyone else. Comments are appreciated.</p>

<p>I am a Georgia student--first in my family to go to college. Also a white female so my ethnic background...uhh..doesn't really help. I might take a college visit soon--I'm undecided.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.975 out of 4.0
Class Rank: 19/350
ACT: Composite: 28—English/Writing 28, Math 28, Reading 27, Science 28; Essay 10.
AP Classes: 8 total; Calc AB and BC, Biology, and Literature now.
11th grade: Stat, Psych, and Language
10th: World History</p>

<p>I've also had 5 honors classes and all of my classes are academic. I haven't had an elective since the ninth grade. My school currently offers 10 AP classes and 5 honors classes. </p>

<p>Lots of positives here, but ACT is a little low (particularly for RD). Why don't you try again on Dec. 10? I know the deadline is past, but you could try to test on standby conditions. A bump in that score would really give you a boost. Class rank is good, as are honors and ECs. I would recommend that you send Vandy everything that you are responsible for without waiting on the school's part of it. You are well ahead of the RD deadline and if the school counselor is late, they will call to follow up with that. Good luck!</p>

<p>What are your AP scores? If you did well, I think it would "cover up" the ACT score. Otherwise, I would say that you are a strong candidate.</p>
