I applied regular decision and still haven't been contacted for an interview, although some of my classmates had them over a week ago. Should I be worried? Does Princeton "filter" their applications before having interviewers contact applicants?

I have an answer, and I apologize if it sounds like bad news.

Last week, I had my interview for Princeton, and the woman (who had been interviewing for 20 something years) told me that Princeton does filter applicants. Out of the filtered pool, Princeton apparently aims to interview 100% of the group.

Maybe they haven't read your application yet or something, though.

Do all of the ivies filter before sending out interview requests? Because I know the ones that I applied to all claimed that whether or not you get an interview has nothing to do with your status, but are they just saying that so that kids don't get all freaked out?

who knows but i had a mediocre interview so im alil nervous

I am a Princeton interviewer and the filtering of applicants is just not correct. As long as the application is complete, Princeton attempts to interview everyone. Please make sure your telephone number and email are still active and check your spam box, just in case an email from an interviewer went there. Realize also that the ability to do interviews comes down to how many alumni are available to do them in a particular area and how many interviews each alumni is willing to do.

If you are really worried- please call the admissions office- they will help you.

I just got contacted today. Don't give up hope!

Yeah, my friend and I got interviewed with like an entire month or two in interview time differences. The one who interviewed my friend in Dec actually is still interviewing another friend very soon...I don't know why the alum didn't complete them all in Dec, but who knows.

a friend of mine applied to cornell ED and didn't get interviewed....he was accepted (the first ivy leaguer from our school in 3 years)...don't sweat the interview...if you don't have one it really won't be a detriment to your application

Actually 2 people from "Questbridge "last year were worried because they didn't get contacted and during RD they got in.. go and look at " questbridge " the thread from last year in " the financial aid " forum".
