I haven't received notification that Bowdoin's processed my application/supplement?

I received an email stating that they had received payment only a few days after I applied, which was around 12/29 or so. It’s February 3rd and I still haven’t received any sort of notification (online or snail mail) that’s letting me know that Bowdoin has processed my application. Should I call or wait for a bit? I applied RD. Thanks in advance!

i have received an email from them stating that they have received my application on january 8th and i have applied online. i am not sure what to tell you on this one - but don’t panic and contact admissions office.

clariss – The Common App site shows the date on which Bowdoin downloads your app and supp if submitted online. Did you check that?

Yes. They downloaded my application a few days after I submitted it. However, here’s the exact text of part of the the email they sent me about payment a day after downloading my application:

We are writing to acknowledge receipt of your application fee in the amount of
$60. Thank you. Please note that information regarding the receipt of your
application for admission will come to you under separate cover.

I haven’t received anything like that. Should I at least call the admissions office?

If it’s been downloaded, they should have it, so you have proof you submitted it. Unless you applied ED II, I’d wait until next week and then send an email. Right now they’re busy with the ED II decisions, which should go out within the week.

I think that the ED2 decisions went out today . .

torasee – I’d noticed that in a couple of the past few years ED2 decisions went out on 2/5, so I figured it would be this week. The ED I acceptances seemed pretty high (36%?) so I guess the ED2 admits will be a lot lower if the total ED admit % is going to be kept around what it usually is and class size is reduced for 2014 as reported in the Orient.

Hi guys!

Did you receive any sort of notification that your application is complete ? Should I mail them or wait until the beginning of March

anyone please?

luluzg, my daughter received an e-mail from them: “thank you for applying to Bowdoin, your app states you’re applying RD, unfortunately we have no online tracking, we’ll contact you if anything’s missing in late Feb.” Why don’t you just call the admission office and ask them; I do that all the time and nobody seems to mind.

they sent me an e-mail saying: “Please note that information regarding the receipt of your application for
admission will come to you by email under separate cover.”
should i just wait for it or show some interest (i had no contact with Admission Office but i did have contact with a soccer coach). I don’t want to seem pushy nor too passive…

No, luluzg, you will not seem pushy. You should contact someone via email or phone, preferably the admission office directly. This is what I would tell my daughter to do (and she has with other schools) because you are following up on something that will affect your future! Better safe than sorry. Good luck :)

thank you!
