I took it for the first time in March 07. I did pretty bad so I wanted to take it again but a lot of stuff came up over the summer so I didn't study for it. And then I was convinced that I didn't need to take it again. BUT NOW I am convinced I NEED to take it again. annoying...

So I haven't studied much since then. Maybe a few sections or so.

Do you think from now until the day of the test there is enough time for me to make a significant increase in my score if I'm scoring in the 1700's-1800's? I plan to study each day but is this even enough time to do anything about it at this point?

Of course there is enough time! You just need to use your time wisely. Try to learn the basic concepts in math and writing in order to make quick gains. In CR it's harder to improve in a short time but I rocommend that you study a high-frequency vocab list of about ~200 words and work on the passages.
Good Luck!:)

Phew! That's great, because my situation was similar to yours.

Just do the best you can...get cranking on the practice tests!!

i have a story for you.
march sat i barely studied and got a 1360 (math/cr)

between march and may i studied a ridiculous amount

may sat 1320 (math/cr)

then i decided to take it again in oct and i honestly feel 1420 without any studying. you never know what is going to happen. i do think that it was probably the reduced stress of the oct test. i wanted to do better for me and i was already happy with the 1360, but i think because i didn't stress about it i ended up doing much better

sure it's possible.........In my opinion, acing the SATs requires five areas of study:

Reading Passages and Answering the Questions (Practice, practice, practice)
.........the question types are almost always the same.......This takes some concentration....

Writing the Essay (Use Grammatix Method)

Writing MC Mastery........They always have the same mistakes.......you can find a list of mistakes somewhere in this forum.....

Math.......Every question is drawn from a restricted list of concepts.......familiarize yourself with the concepts by taking practice tests....pay attention to the questions you got wrong.....and make sure you never repeat that mistake again.....if your background in math is good.......this process should help you achieve a perfect score in math....after a couple of math practice tests........if its bad.......get the gruber's math workbook

Vocabulary.........Study Roots........and learn a few words.....with this one.......your best bet is roots.......because if you want to increase your vocab greatly.......you need a lot more time........but the roots should help to some degree.........i think this is the only one that cannot be perfected with the time you have.....however....you can improve significantly....
