same here. i just know about one person that's going to UCI in my school and don't even know him. Maybe I can find someone in here too. I'm in AV though.

true. some friends who dorm together end up hating eachother. i believe it's due to the fact that they see the little things they've never seen before considering they're living together and seeing eachother most of the time. it all builds up they just get tired of the same old minor things that were once trivial (roommate snoring, bringing friends over, listening to music too loudly, bringing gf/bf over to sleep, etc.)

on the contrary, however, some roommates become really close and even settle to live with eachother again the next year in an off-campus apartment or whatnot. it all depends.

I know five guys pretty well who will be going to UCI next year.

I will not room with them.

I like and respect them all enough to not risk losing that very respect.

Besides, I'm kind of excited about meeting somebody new. Maybe we'll hit it off, maybe not. Either way it'll be a learning experience and one I refuse to miss out on.

crimsonpham: AV seemed to have interested me more, but I'm whatever. I already received the housing contract and nothing I can do about it now, not that I want to.

take a random roomate, you'll love them or hate them. if you hate them, you can put in a request to change, and you'll prolly get it. if you have friends at the school, each take random people, chances are you guys will then have a larger group of friends, or have meals conversating over how much you hate your roomates. it's hit or miss, but worth the risk.
