I really want to get into University of Rhode Island but their avg. SAT score is 1667 and my SAT is 1500, they also have a avg GPA of 91.02 and mine is 90.81. But I am in Girl Scouts, play softball(travel and school) I'm on Honor Society, and Music Honor Society(TRI-M). WILL THESE THINGS MATTER AT ALL? I just want to know how much SAT scores actually matter when it comes to accepting people and if my activities really are considered.

Test scores do matter. I just calculated the average SAT score and it is actually close to 1600, I think (helps a little). They have a high acceptance rate (79% of applicants).

Go to this link and look at section C7. It tells you how they consider different aspects of an application.

You have a decent chance. Have you considered retaking the SAT or trying the SAT this fall to try to bring your scores up to improve your chances?

Yes I’m taking it one more time and also the ACT just to see what my chances are with that. Thank you so much for your reply!

So… study for them.
Math is the easiest to improve on for most people. Take practice tests, then check the answers and understand why you missed them. Get someone better at math to help explain them if needed. Make flashcards for those concepts, and put the specific problem on a card, too. Study them before taking another practice test, and before the real test.
