Hello, I’m really sad now. I have never attended a class of a history and I thought I dropped the class. When it was time to show grades I saw an F. the drop didn’t go through a process and I was shocked that I have received an F. I went to the admission and advising in my college and they told me they are sorry they can’t drop now and my drop didn’t go through.
How can he give me a grade without any work or attendance after 3 absence the student is automatically dropped?
My questions are:
Will the F show on my transcript. And I wanna get a scholarship it will have me lose a chance of getting a scholarship.
How does the professor give me an F without any work and attendance?
Read the syllabus. If a class has a mandatory attendance policy, it is not uncommon for a certain number of unexcused absences to be grounds for failure of the course.
Before the early drop deadline (September 26 this fall term), they always send out an email reminding you that it is your responsibility to check that your schedule on wolverine access is correct. It is up to you to make sure that any courses you no longer wish to be enrolled in for the term have been dropped, and before that date, all it is is a few simple clicks on wolverine access.
@CheddarcheeseMN OP is talking about some class where enrollment is capped at roughly 30 or so people. The professor usually ends up getting to know students by name.
No work, no show, no exam are certainly valid reasons for an F.
You are responsible to ensure that you drop the class before the drop deadline. The prof may drop you from his class list and allow another person to take the class but you are not officially dropped from the registrar. You are an adult in college now. Learn from it and move on. You can ask the professor to see if he can do something about it. He may change your F to an Incomplete grade.
