<p>it’s a little hard to say. what is your unweighted gpa? your sat score is slightly low for duke. your race makes up for it, but i’m not sure if it’s enough. your chances are around high match, i would say. maybe a low reach?</p>

<p>If you’re only top 20% then your chances are lower, but I really like your ECs…I think you have a pretty good chance as long as your ranking is higher~</p>
<p>Your biraciality (not a word, I know) is odd because being black is definitely a GOOD minority while Asian a definitely a BAD minority because it is not a minority in most selective college application pools.</p>
<p>I would say it is a low reach because your SAT scores are not high in comparison to most Duke applicants. If you were white, I would say a high reach, but being a minority def helps.</p>

<p>You should mark “African-American” in your APP because it’s true. Don’t you have to be at least 1/2 of a race to be able to mark that category? I know you only have to be like 1/16th Native American to mark that.</p>

<p>youre definitely in the mix, in the 50th %tile means you should get in and be an average student at duke, key words being student at duke. youre chances are just fine</p>

do you have any leadership positions?</p>
<p>I think you’ll get into Duke ED. If you put down African-American, with your scores you should be fine. Also, your ECs look good. If some of the things such as tutoring an autistic child get across in your application, then you’re golden.</p>
<p>My only hesitation is that I don’t know what to make of your GPA. I’m unfamiliar with that scale. Other than that (which might be a nonissue), I’d say expect an acceptance letter.</p>

<p>a 3.3 UW = top 10%
2.9 = top 20%
2.7 = top 30%</p>
<p>A bunch of kids are sent to top schools</p>
<p>a black kid last year with a 6.0 WGPA got into Georgetown EA and Cornell RD, but i think my ECs and SATs are better than his. He just had sports over me.</p>
