I just don't know anymore

I'm a rising senior at a Jesuit prep school in Buffalo, NY. I scored a 1870 on my SAT's, have about a 3.8 GPA, and rank in the top 13% of my class.
This college search is exhausting, having poured through tons of mails and searched through hundreds of sites, trying to find a respected college with the best fit for me.
I want to go to college mainly to learn so I can reach my goals of becoming a Broadway composer as well as an author. But, seeing that I am a very "expensive" sort of guy, I need a job that pays well and have my other two dreams on the side, most likely in advertising.
I am mainly an academic and not a big partier and I want a respected college with self-initiated curriculums in music, theater, creative writing, and some communication department. Can someome help? PLEASE!

HP, you can relax. Almost any well-known LAC will have exactly what you're looking for, and there are tons of them. Have you looked at Emerson? It's an artsy sort of place, right in Boston where you are surrounded by music and city culture. I don't know their program for advertising, but there are others if it doesn't work out; maybe Reed?

Why don't you apply Hogwarts ED?

Syracuse University for musical theater, communications, creative writing, AND/OR business/advertising

Carnegie Mellon, NYU would be a reach
Boston U
SUNY Fredonia
Skidmore

Well, uvajoe, that school has dropped in rank since Dumbledore is no longer headmaster. I heard the "H" was replaced by some place called "Harvard" in the coveted HYPS position.

Another school right in your backyard. . .Ithaca College, though I second the LAC suggestion.. . Oberlin, Hamilton, Bard, Skidmore maybe??

Skidmore is a great enviroment for people who want to juggle the Arts and more conventional ("serious" as my parents would say) academic areas: business, economics, sciences, etc.

There is quite a contingent of NYC students, many of whom come from prominent families in the Arts, so it may be a good networking opportunity on that front.

What school BTW?....Just want to know, I know the area.

I go to Canisius High School

aaah Canisius....hmmm the good old western new york days...

Cold, winter days, yes, but oh the memories....

I would have gone to Sweet Home High School BTW, but I moved...

hmmmm raise the SAT first off....study hard for them and take them...

Study for SAT and focus more on yourself.
