I just failed a class how screwed am I...

I failed my AP statistics class for the third quarter (still did ok 1st and 2nd quarter) so is it pretty much set in stone that the colleges that accepted me like UMASS, Virgina tech etc.. will change their minds and reject me?

If I manage a 5 on the AP exam will they still change their decision of accepting me?

You need to contact the schools to find out. We would just be guessing. You still have a chance to get a better final grade. They may make your admission contingent on that.

Talk to your guidance counselor. At least from our HS the colleges only see the final grade. BUT you need to get to work and raise that grade — work hard, see the teacher after school multiple times a week, get a tutor if you need one. Don’t screw up your college acceptance for one class.

Agree - talk to your guidance counselor. Many colleges will, upon taking their “admitted students” (the ones they accepted that then accept back) will get a final-year transcript. If you had only one quarter of bad grades, it is doubtful that the quarter will show up on the final transcript (only on the mid-year one which already went to them before the third quarter). You may be just fine – but get to studying so you don’t do this again 4th quarter!

Colleges will only get your final grade report, ie., your end-of-year performance. You have 2 months to turn that around so get to work.
