I just found out I NEED to take 7 classes even though I don't need them

? I wanted to take some APs Senior year and get home early. Do my homework and have a damn life. Oh no, * you for wanting to take them is what my school tells me. You don't take avg classes so we don't give a damn how big your load is or that you want free time. My grading scale is already insane compared to most schools. I don't want to take 7 classes. Someone enlighten me. If I'm at a Magnet CPS high school and I'm only required to have 24 credits.(I will have 22 at the end of this Junior year) do I really need to take 7 whole classes my Senior year? Why can't I take 6? Is my school allowed to force me to take the 7 class that I don't need for anything? Heck, I would only need an English class and an elective to meet the 24 required credits.

Anybody out there in Chicago, IL that knows if my school can FORCE me? Is there any way I can fight this? I want a good fun year. I don't want another Junior year where I get 3hrs of sleep a night.

The 7 classes don't include a lunch period which would make my day 8 periods long BTW.

I understand. I wanted to take 5 AP's Junior year, but I'd also have to take 2 other electives when I could spend time doing homework instead. As long as you graduate with the required amount of credits, why do you HAVE to take 7 classes?

I don't know why they care. They should know how hard AP's are. What I think I'm going to do is take 1 Community College class (dual enrollment) so I can get out of school early and have more time to get work done.

screw getting into the best college. take 7 rediculously easy classes senior year. or take 2 classes over the summer and graduate early.

do everything you can to leave early. i can tell you, not having to be there at lunch and past makes it a bit better
