<p>It's annoying because my mom thinks it's great that I'm getting so many letters from colleges as a freshman (she doesn't get that nearly everyone who has taken the PSAT gets them too), so she keeps ALL OF THEM! Now I have a huge stack of letters from colleges that I'm not interested and won't even be thinking about apply to for another two and a half years.</p>
<p>^ i feel your pain. I'm a junior and I have to secretly throw crap out!</p>
<p>I did too!! Well 14 yesterday, 9 today. What the heck!? Stop wasting trees!! I even got duplicates today and yesterday.</p>
<p>wait until you're a second semester senior and your praying for ANYTHING in the mail from college....</p>

<p>lol u guys got mail from top colleges? I get mail from like, random colleges in virginia and like local colleges like drexel or temple. I wish i got something from harvard or Upenn or MIT. tshh its prolly cuz i only got a 153 on psat -_- o and i only get like 5 mails a day.</p>
<p>Most of mine come through email. And it's really weird because I got a name change junior year, so I took the PSAT under a different name as a soph. So now I get mail that calls me by both names, sometimes from the same school.</p>
<p>Imagine having 2x everything. 2 of every postcard, letter, brochure. We don't even open one of them; it just goes directly into recycling. It is important that they send 2 though because there is always the immediate comparison as to who got what. We've been pretty even so far though. Whew.</p>
<p>Ya, I definitely regretted checking that box when I took the PSAT. And this will continue for like a year. Unfortunately, I took it as a sophomore and made the same mistake checking that box as a junior.</p>
<p>And then we don't recycle so I felt bad throwing away ALL that paper...I swera, I must have killed a few trees from that. :P</p>
<p>I've FINALLY stopped getting mass amounts of college mail half way through my senior year... Hopefully I'll be getting good news soon though =)</p>

<p>Me too! I got about 8 just today. And about 10 yesterday. Simply awful! And all from colleges I dont really like at all!!</p>
<p>I propose a competition. Everyone needs to save their college mail and then weigh at the end of the school year. Whoever's weighs the most wins.</p>
<p>Not to mention you might actually look at some of the mail you are getting.</p>

<p>im a senior and its odd now bc im only receiving like 2/3 a day as opposed to 23423 an hour in the peak time of late junior year...</p>

<p>I only got mail from places like MIT and Harvard because of my test scores. Apparently they don't pay attention to our preference of major because I kept getting letters about their awesome engineering programs. Actually Cooper Union kept sending me engineering stuff even after I requested info on their arts department!!! Why are the engineers after me?!?!? I never got past algebra 2!</p>
<p>I actually read stuff that colleges send me. Even if I've never heard of the college, i'll look it up and give it a shot. I've found out about two schools that I'll now probably apply to because they sent me something in the mail (macalester and willamette).
I like getting stuff in the mail.</p>
<p>Yeah, during my junior year of high I was getting a crazy amount of mail- like 20+ letters a day from various colleges. Now that I am a senior, though, it has basically died down.</p>
<p>the best one I got was from a really small school. it was a picture of a car covered in snow. written in the snow on the windshield was my name. i know it was down in photoshop, but it was cute.</p>
