I just got a 34 on the ACT, but...

It’s without writing, and the school I’m applying for requires the writing section. Now, I have taken the ACT before and I got a 31, with a 10 on the writing (out of 12). Can I send the school both score reports? Will they accept that? The School is the University of Washington by the way, and they say on their website that they don’t superscore, so I’m really conflicted. I don’t think I can get a 34 again with writing, and I honestly don’t feel like taking the ACT again.

Hmm. I guess the best way is to call them and ask. Anyway, if it’s UW, 31 is above top 25% so I don’t think you have to worry about it.

I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine with a 31 for UW. As for sending both, I’m not sure if they would accept the one without writing because, well, it’s without writing… But still, I’d ask them.

Some schoosl require ACT score with writing in the same sitting. You should call to find out. Note that the score is not only for admission but may also get you some potential merit aid. So retaking it may open more doors to you if you have time.

Send both. Even if they only look at your 31 you’ll be fine. Those are excellent scores!
