You obviously didn't apply to Columbia if you call the school CAS. And no, they dont send likely letters to students who applied to COLUMBIA COLLEGE.

Yaaaay! My brother went to Fu and loved it.

i got mine today...

i got mine today also... i was excited :)

I got an email (also applied to SEAS). What does this really mean? I heard the Dartmouth applicants found out quite early if they were "likely," though their letter was much stronger than this.

They do invite us to the open house thing in April, so that is a good sign. Regardless, I am awaiting the hardcopy of the letter, and I'll probably call their office tomorrow.

if its possible can you post stats. =D

just go through my previous posts; you'll find them.

Well, let's just say I got a 2200 on the SAT, so it's nothing to be proud of, and I did not get 800s across the board on SAT IIs. I am very glad Columbia speaks favourably of me, as I was deferred from my first choice school.

i received one as well...i was quite shocked to see it in my inbox when i got home...

Now, really, hold your congrats. No one knows for sure until we get our mailings come end of March.

I can firm it's true. Got mine too :)

Anyone applying to CC got one?

Are all the likely letters mentioned above for the The Fu Foundation School?

aww. i didn't get a likely. but they only send out likelies for a portion of their admitted candidates, right? gosh, i hope so! congrats everybody!

The likely letters are only for people who applied to Fu/SEAS. If you applied to the College, I don't think they're sending out letters.

Yeah I applied to Fu... so again

"i didn't get a likely. but they only send out likelies for a portion of their admitted candidates, right?"

yeah, only to a portion.
moreover, not all of the likely letter recipients are admitted.

Haha. That's quite wicked of them, then, to send applicants a likely letter saying "you can expect" "favorable word."

Of course, they have every right to not admit you if you start failing at your school.

I called their office today, and, yes, they did send them out. I asked them to clarify on the letter, and he stated that it means what it means, and it is not necessary for us to take additional steps outside the traditional application process. He also added that Columbia cannot notify students of their decisions early.
