i just got a likely letter....

for cornell, don't they send out official acceptances for two of its schools? on a rolling basis?

Yes, BingCold, Cornell does have a rolling admissions scheme for a couple of their schools.

thanks, that's what i read somewhere in other threads

Um guys this person is obviously Trolling... "DARE participant" lol -_-;

yeah, mine was for CAS though

Likely letters are still going out (my friend just got one for brown), but this guy is obviously a troll. Anything below 600 pretty much gets you rejected from harvard, unless you have some other compelling reason for admission.

mann i really want one!!!

Come on!! Give this poor guy a break!! what if it IS for real?? I believe the likelies go out (atleast for harvard) to candidates with something unusual in their apps that harvard is looking for...

I also believe iwannagoivy got a non-likley letter from his local community college. Shame.

yes, she's Chinese, our school is Pinghe

I've never heard of a likely letter ever from Harvard...

Come to think of it, why would Harvard ever have to send out a likely letter?? I mean, ok, it makes sense for Cornell to send out a bunch two weeks before announcing the result to steal candidates away from other ivies... but Harvard??

I concur...

exactly, so harvard also doesn't care about demonstrated interest like some schools do

Harvard knows perfectly well how seductive it can be..we cannot resist its pull, much like gravity's effect on humans

... gravity's effect on everything? I just got this image of my house, bed and laptop floating off into space while I sit on the gravel outside going, "great, now the yeti's gonna eat me." Lol....ah...too much movies...will stop doing movie marathons with friends on a daily basis......

a couple of other people on this forum have claimed to have gotten one
i dont know why Harvard would need to send them to nonathletes but im sure they send out a very very select few

it's not too far of a stretch to say that they --could-- be lying.

I can always scan the letter for you ;)

congrats nw31!!!

question for people who got likely letter in general....
did you guys apply way before the deadline?
