I just got accepted.

Hey guys, this may answer your questions about why UCSC was rather difficult to get into this year.
I found this on Ms. Sun’s blog, by the way.
http://senate.ucsc.edu/senate-meetings/agendas-minutes/2011-may-27-senate-meeting/CAFA052711scp1674.pdf

I got into UCSC, but I got waitlisted at UCD. I am very worried about UCI, especially since we are almost nearing an end to the decisions. Is it true that the absolutely last way consists entirely of rejections?

i think people like @ bystander should still be stressing though. i have 1900/4.2UC and I’m stressing still. i got rejected by sb not even wait listed, got into davis, but still, uc’s are so unpredictable, i want to get my hopes up but if i plan on getting in ill be super depressed

My friend got admitted to ucsb with a 3.3 weighted gpa and a 13 something sat score…

I read somewhere (i forget where) that it’s usually more likely to get into two of the 3 “tied” UCs (davis, SB, irvine) rather than all three no matter how qualified you are. Like if you got into UCD and UCSB, you may not get into irvine. You know what I mean?
And a lot of people I know didn’t get into either of the 3 and got into UCLA or UCB. You honestly never know what they’re gonna weigh as most important and what they’re looking at which is why I feel like “chancing” people is totally subjective to what YOU think is most important.
You never know how these UC’s are admitting people, so I feel like it’s better to sit tight and wait instead of freaking out and crying (like I did when I didn’t get into Davis LOL). And whatever happens, happens for the best. Don’t worry too much :]

I was afraid it would sound like i was trying to make them feel sorry for me. which definitely would have turned them off from my essay.

my friend got into ucsb with a 3.34 1550…he didn’t play a sport, involved in a few clubs, not much volunteering and he is asian…

@sportsfan ya *** :!:!:@EKE

since im bored and want to take my mind off this, 何人は日本語を割りますか? o pueden aprender espanol? quiero hablar con una persona que aprenden japones o espanol porque esto me ayudara no pensar sobre este situacion.

gorehpakoreh

lol what??

no me gusta espanol. I am in spanish 7-8 nd i F***** hate it haha

I feel like we have all become a “FREAKING OUT ABOUT UCI” family.
Awwww. we cute.

@sportsfan, what school are you talking about? uci?

and do you guys think they care if your essays connect with your major? someone said that on a thread i think. i wrote my essays on photography as my passion and music being my safe haven or something like that? they had nothing to do with my major of biomedical engineering. but they were creative and good writing style, like my music essay was outlined like a podcast, and i had time coutners throughout my essay like “0:03” minutes, but it was metaphorical to my life and stuff. idk…but davis is a music school so i think they liked that? but uci is mainly a school based on stats right? like they don’t care much about extracurrics/essays? i mean unless you’re like asb press or something good

@ sports I meant to say ya W THE FUDGE… like how can people get in with such low stats

Ricky: ohaioh! Ganbaru :3

7-8? how is spanish where you go?
im in spanish 5 ap lol you’re way above where i am haha

My friend was Mexican with his low stats into ucsb

im a huge minority lol how many puerto ricans do you think are applying here? on my dads side (the puerto rican one) im the first in his family to be born here since he was born in puerto rico

@ ricky then you have a good chance. Im a middle eastern girl so I doubt it really helps. They are probably like terrorist haha

unfortunately i dont think they factor that in too much haha

I think I am going crazy. I find myself just laughing for no reason.
