"Please submit your Winter 2016 grades as soon as they are available.
We must receive this information within five days of this message date, or processing of your application may be delayed or canceled."
My winter grades aren’t going to be finalized until a month from now. So what do they mean by saying “as soon as they are available,” and then saying I only have five days to report it? Do they want my grades as of right now?
By the way, I am a transfer applicant, and am currently in the middle of the winter quarter, sorry I forgot to mention that! That’s why I’m not sure whether they want the grades I have right now in my classes or not.
So why have they given me five days? Wouldn’t they know the winter quarter doesn’t finish for another few weeks? i have already given them my fall quarter grades, my most recently completed quarter.
I’m sure they will be fine if you just send them a note with another copy of your fall grades and tell them winter quarter isn’t over with until next month.
this is why the admissions office has an email address, why your CC has a transfer center.
BTW did you submit the required fall update in January? I could be they are asking about that if you didn’t, although the use of winter instead of fall makes that sound like its not likely what’s happening here.
Did you send them your first semester grades? If not do so immediately. If you need any additional clarification about what they are looking for and when they need it, don’t guess or ask third parties here – pick up your phone and call the admissions department.
I actually have, on occasion, had students ask me for midterm grades for transfer purposes. So they may in fact want your current profs to give your current grade in the course. However, obviously you should call the school to clarify.
Update: Just today, coincidentally, I had a student come to me with a request for mid-term grades. The form was part of the Common Application for transfer students.
My guess is they want your fall quarter grades, if you haven’t sent them in yet. But, talk to the admissions people and find out exactly what you need.
