I can't believe it! The dean of admissions called my house to give me the amazing news!!!@!

Congratulations!!

congrats!
My friend is still waiting to hear. Did the dean tell you any of the stats?

wOO00TT77!! I just got in too!

One application fee to Pomona: $60
One admission reservation fee for Emory: $450
Dean of Admissions at Pomona calling to personally congratulate you: priceless

Pomona, here I come!

P.S. I didn't get any statistics, I wasn't going to push it :D

hey, to those of you who got called today, what part of the country are you in?

Congrats guys. See you in the fall. :)

sillybeccalilly: I'm from WA (not Seattle though.)

Congratulations!

nlf1187 and Lotus123--

Congratulations to both of you! If you look at US News & World 2006, I believe it says that fewer than 20 students were accepted from the waitlist last year. (I can't remember whether it was 12 or 19 or something like that--one was a waitlist number and the other was transfer students.)

same here............i was just accepted off the waitlist, but now i'm not sure whether I should go to northwestern (which i already paid my deposit for) or to pomona.

very confused.

wow.. i guess you guys don't know how sad this thread makes me :( i loved pomona

anyway, did you guys do anything else to get off the waitlist? like send a letter or something? i sent a letter but i'm afraid that pomona didn't receive it in time

I sent a letter expressing my continued interest. I also sent a couple writing samples and had two teachers write additional recs.

sssss87--

Congratulations! Good luck with your decision.

I just got off the wait list as well. I actually was planning to send them a letter of continued interest and another teacher rec, but I hadn't gotten around to it because I'm lazy and really didnt think I'd get in anyway because I'm stupid, but yeah... the call surprised the hell out of me.

btw, I'm from washington, too (vancouver)

congratulations you guys!!! ... sigh... :(

... this post makes me remember how happy i was when i got my pomona acceptance and how awesome of a place it is... i still have a few of the shakes from my pomona withdrawl... I wish there were 2 of me so I can go to both Pomona and Haverford ("XTC" as well, baby)... :)

have the fish tacos when you're in socal... they're great :)
i'll be thinking about them as i clog up my arteries with phili cheese steaks.

They offered waitlist to only 200 people-----assuming some went elsewhere Pomona's matriculation rate must be pretty good
I count 3 off the wait list (me too)
?

Make that four!!!!!

Congrats to everyone!!! ^^

My friend got off the waitlist too. =)

I was waitlisted for Pomona but I got off the waitlist at my first choice school.

Hey congrats, krayongirl, to you on MIT (I checked your previous posts - yeah, I have a bit of time on my hands) and to your friend! Is your friend coming to Pomona? And I see that you're from Seattle (like me) - what HS do you go to?

My friend is definitely attending Pomona (he got full tuition covered by financial aid). He didn't even visit, lol...
