I just got into UVa and Echols!

Checking my email as usual, I was very surprised to find an admissions letter from UVa!

On behalf of the Committee on Admission, it is my great pleasure to offer you
admission to the University of Virginia and to invite you to join the Echols
Scholars Program. We will host a special open house program for admitted Echols
Scholars on Monday, April 4th and hope that you will be able to attend.

The subject was "Echols Day on the Lawn" and there was a link to more info about it.

It's my first acceptance, and although the likely letter was great, something offical is fantastic! I am so psyched and happy! Did anyone else get this email?

yeap i did... i dunno they put the date so close to when we find out from other schools its a tough choice if i should travel down there or not (im from NJ) :-/
(uvas not really one of my top top choices)

Congrats to both of you! I'm curious of two things... 1. What time was it e-mailed, and 2. what were your stats? Thanks so much!

Any Rodman scholars receive an email?

i'm from NJ also, got the e-mail at 3:11PM today
i'd like to go down, but i've already been there a jazillion times because my brother is in his second year.
good chance i'll still go, though. it's so pretty down there =)

stats for people who have gotten the email?

So, is this email being received by people who already go the likley letter in the past few weeks- and now it's an official email with both admissions and echols?

Any one get an email who did NOT get a likely letter?

it was so great because i didn't expect to hear until april 1.
i was just randomly checking my email and princeton said "where's your financial aid!!!??" and then i was like, oh great UVa doesnt have it either.
surprise surprise!

unrelated, but 11/11 kids got rejected yesterday from mit. my school usually gets about 3 in

lol I was completely surprised too, but it's a VERY nice surprise!

I received my email at 3:11pm today, but there's a link to more about echols and day on the lawn, and the welcome letter in there (which we will also get in the mail) is dated March 11th.

Stats (you can also see my PR stats through the homepage link)

I don't think I will go down to this day on the lawn. I will probably visit during another time because I have to fly in and miss school and I'd just rather do that when I get a better idea of my other choices. Uva isn't my first choice, but I like it a lot and it's a definite possibility.

two questions: did all of you receive phone calls about echols?
did anyone with the letter not receive an email echols acceptance?

I got the letter and the call (I posted a thread about it and didn't hear from anyone else who was called).

i got letter, call, e-mail
not positive i'll go down, but my mom already booked the cavalier inn in case

so exciting!!!

I only got the letter and the email. No call for me :( (unless I missed it).

My D got a likely letter, no call & no email & apparently no Echols- also SAT below 1500 which appears to be a cutoff on the other thread, thus far!
